Increase Housing Variety & Ownership

Simplify & Expedite Permitting

Simplify & Expedite Permitting

Our increasing housing costs demands more homes be provided, quickly. We must unburden the delivery of new homes from unnecessary layers of red tape and bureaucracy and be respectful of people’s time, especially when providing multifamily housing, small scale retail space for local businesses, as well as for affordable housing and those intended at reasonable price points.

Accelerated permitting program and "concierge" for local builders delivering projects with 4+ units, owner occupied, and neighborhood commercial retail spaces.

Increase Variety

Simplify & Expedite Permitting

Giant apartment complexes and 1920's bungalows is not enough for the high demand of wanting to live within our growing city.

We will ensure our zoning update is implemented, encouraging increasing the quantity of homes within the city by allowing variety of homes & buildings that can be added throughout our city.

Makeup of homes and families has no limit. We should not be limiting the types of housing you can and want to live in. If you want to live alone, need to live with others to afford rent, have a growing family, want space for children, are a caretaker or have multi-generational family, have two cars or no cars, we are happy for you and do not need to dictate what you or our neighbor’s homes can be.

Lease City Land

Lease City Land

While the city has limited funds to increase the amount of homes we have, we do have ample land and public spaces to leverage.

By leasing development air rights on city parcels, we will enable more homes throughout the city, as well as provide a new revenue stream to help support priorities across our city. Have an underused parking lot at your rec center? Want an improved fire or police station? Wish more people lived in closer proximity to a local park? Each present opportunity to partner to provide more homes and increase quality of services across our city.

Home Ownership

Lease City Land

Atlanta is a majority renter city. Up until January 2023, I too rented across Atlanta.

To help address our city's damning income inequalities, we must provide more opportunities for Atlantans to build generational wealth through home ownership.

House the Homeless

It is no secret Atlanta has a growing homeless presence. While at times this may feel uncomfortable, we must always remember these are our neighbors and recognize we have room for improvement.

The one proven way to help address homelessness is to provide a roof over their heads, a level of stability, as well as complementary services. This will not be an easy task, however we must rise to the moment and collectively do more for our neighbors.

We must also commit to not using bulldozers nor comparable heavy machinery on homeless encampments, which occurred in 2025 and resulted in the death of our neighbor.

Remove Parking Minimums

Requiring parking for new housing and commercial developments is counterintuitive.

While it is known costs of parking construction are passed to tenants and patrons via cost of the goods provided, an often overlooked aspect is how the additional parking distances the new development from the surrounding area.

We must create a city where it is easier and more accessible to get between our homes, jobs, and nearby goods and services.

Those who want to add parking are still welcome to do so, meanwhile those who do not want to incur the additional costs would be able to choose not to.

House Public Servants

In addition to our teachers and local police force, we owe a world of gratitude to those who decide to serve the public interest. From waste management, watershed services, construction crews, policy analysts, as well as administrative  assistants, we want you live in and know the city you serve.

Making this more attainable for you is a step in the right direction.

Remain in Place

Create tools & programs that incentivize senior and lower income property owners to remain in place, such as converting or redeveloping single family homes into multifamily housing if the current owner is retained, occupies, & owns a unit.

Our seniors deserve to live in the neighborhoods they grew up in, with their family nearby, & able to run errands nearby. Out housing stock and zoning must ensure this is commonplace across Atlanta.
