Know of expensive and overly complicated processes local businesses must follow to operate within the city limits? Have ideas of how to encourage more great businesses that operate outside the city to open a new shop in Atlanta? I want to hear from you so we can simplify this process and make it easier for more businesses and jobs to operate within Atlanta.
Atlanta should have the absolute best options in the metro within city limits. We want you to operate here and our permitting and zoning policies must encourage this. Neighborhood corner stores providing groceries, cafes, or restaurants should be allowed across the city by-right when they operate at reasonable hours of the day.
Guidance to Invest Atlanta will continue to encourage incentives geared towards local, small business owners and developers instead of larger corporations.
As the heart one of the fastest growing regions of the United States, while Atlanta has numerous jobs, we lack the abundance of skilled labor of these reliable, good paying jobs to keep up with our demand.
We need more men and women who know how to construct new buildings, install electrical wiring, HVAC, solar panels, & support electric vehicle infrastructure, fix our crumbling pipes, build better quality sidewalks, intersections, protected bike lanes, & new transit lines, as well as ongoing maintenance for all of it.
Further, we can create stewardship programs that provide on the job experience while helping neighbors in need restore homes to good standing.
As Metro Atlanta and Southeast United States population booms, so has our population grown, however the City of Atlanta’s population is simply now just a bit above where out population was in the 70’s.
To help ensure Atlanta remains the epicenter of the southeast United States, we must ensure reliable housing, population, & diversified economic growth.
Further, we must ensure our population secures influence with our state legislature, while also solidifying our congressional and electoral college representation at the Federal level.
As we continue to coordinate and leverage state and federal funds appropriately, we must also prioritize our own budget to achieve our top goals. This includes ensuring our annual budgets fund our strategic goals with a level of financial independence, not contingent upon the ebbs and flows of national politics.
We must focus on what we can influence the most, which is right here in Atlanta.
